Obituary |
Memorial services for Glenn Schumacher of Plainview will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 7, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church. He went peacefully to be with his heavenly father on Aug. 3, 2012, at his residence. Glenn was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Tulia. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1970. Over the years he worked at a number of professions. He found his true calling as a correctional officer at the Formby Unit here in Plainview where he worked for a number of years. He was very proud of his work there. In 1993, he married the love of his life, Lacreica White in Plainview. His many interests included singing gospel music, playing dominos, spending time with family and friends and, as of late, putting together jigsaw puzzles. Glenn is survived by his wife, Lacreica; mother, Oleda Schumacher of Tulia; stepdaughter, Marsha K. White of Lubbock; stepson, Tom and wife Julie of Plainview; sisters, Nan Davis and husband Duane of Tulia and Charlotte Rentfro of Purcell, Okla.; brother, Randy and wife Debbie of Yates Center, Kan.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family; and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Andy Schumacher; sister, Yvonne Wilcox; and stepson, Sam White. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Hands of West Texas in Lockney, Grace United Methodist Church and Hale County Senior Citizens Center. |
